Dedication

We feel that children are gifts from God. Child dedications are a way for:

• Parents to thank the Lord for His incredible gift and acknowledge it
  
• For parents to show their commitment to raising THEIR child in the Christian faith
  
• For the church body to commit to help the child grow in Christ

Ultimately, we hope that dedications help to lead children to make a future commitment to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Mark 10:13-16 (NLT)

Jesus Blesses the Children
One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.
When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.
I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."
Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

Psalm 127: 3-5 (NLT):
Children are a gift from the Lord;
   they are a reward from him.
Children born to a young man
   are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.
How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!
   He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
